Vanessa's Home Renovation: Guest Room Reveal

This guest room used to be called The Spongebob Room. It was floor-to-ceiling covered in magic marker! Names, phrase, and (of course) Spongebob were the focal points of the room. The floor was nasty carpet that I'm pretty sure they tried to draw on as well! We even ran into someone in the street that had looked at the house when it was for sale, and as soon as he mentioned the Spongebob Room...my husband made him come in and take a look at what we had done!

I started painting with primer, of course, (GOODBYE SPONGEBOB!) and then with my paint. The marker was NOT going away! So I tried more primer, then more paint. I could still read every word through the paint, so my husband went to get a "special" primer that the market STILL bled through! We had guests staying over the next day, and I was almost in tears. Nothing was working! So I just kept painting over and over with the regular paint since it seemed to be covering the best. FINALLY, at 1 in the morning, it was covered!!

Well, the room turned out so beautiful that I like it better than the master bedroom! I've been through 7 or 8 different colors of white since we started working on the house. I had no time to test out a new color on the guest room, but I didn't want any of the one I had already tried! I just went to the store and picked out a color, and it turned out to be my FAVORITE white in the entire house! I actually ended up repainting our living room in the same color.

It's a quaint little room, but it's bright and cheerful! What room in your house is the most cheerful?

  3. When my wife and I put our previous home up for sale, we decided to repaint the entire house white, and we allowed the contractor to choose the paint and he chooses it to be white. That's when I truly understood that white can be as vivid (or soft) as any other color. Many people enjoy the simplicity of white rooms. Home renovations are not as easy as it seems to be. 5. Molds are multi-cellular (consist of more than one cell) filamentous fungi usually having a fuzzy or cottony soft appearance when they grow in areas in your homes. They may be white, dark or in any color. They produce spores usually asexually and in large numbers which means they arise and inherit from a single parent. Asexual reproduction is the primary form of reproduction for single-celled organisms such as bacteria and fungi. They are light, resistant to drying and can easily spread through the air and contaminate any areas.
More often, a moldy smell might be the only clue that there is a hidden mold growth away from your house. Never ignore mold odors if you can't see any mold or else this might be the main reason of illnesses within your family. You should thoroughly inspect your home before any mold problems get worse. You can find out how to inspect your house for mold at certified mold inspection
