A Shop-Owner's Gorgeous Renovated Home

This summer I had the pleasure of photographing the home of Colette and Peter Gross. Colette owns The Shops at Station 8, an incredible vintage decor store in Columbia Falls, MT. It was my favorite local shop and then became the first place I started selling my own vintage finds. She taught me how to display and really kindled my passion for vintage.

Colette and Peter found potential in what used to be the home of a local doctor in Kalispell, MT. The 1908 home was about to be torn down when they bought it and moved it to the perfect spot just north of town, along with the adorable carriage house!

The interior was in such good shape and hadn't had much remodeling done to it throughout the years, which gave Colette and Peter insight into how they could update the house and still keep the history of the original home.

They added a walk-out basement with 8' ceilings, beams and an antique built-in to ensure the feeling of history and age even in the brand new lower level.

The main level was kept intact with pocket doors and original wood flooring and woodwork.

When Colette would go on a buying trip to hunt for antiques to sell in her store, she also would find beautiful pieces to use in her home.

Somehow she used so many amazing pieces in her home without making it feel cluttered. I was completely inspired!

Colette and Peter are ready for their next project and have put their home up for sale. Can you believe  it?! If you are in the market...you will definitely want to check out this beauty!

If you think this is good...just wait till you see Colette's store! On November 7th from 9am-5pm they are having their Holiday Open House! You won't want to miss it! I never do!!

  1. I love this whole house! The decor, the floors, the windows, the character and even more, the carriage house! Thanks for posting!

  2. I'm so happy to see someone save and revive an old house that was about to be lost to time. This home is so beautiful. I especially love the richness of all that beautiful old wood. I hope this house is loved for generations to come, and I wish the owners luck with their future endeavors!
