If you haven't gathered from our sidebar, we run a vintage market in Montana (And Salt Lake City this spring!)
This past weekend, we had our annual Christmas market! It was AMAZING!
We had more shoppers than ever, more vendors than ever, and the talent was just over the top. Even Ryan Gosling showed up! Ok, so maybe it was two-dimensional cardboard Ryan Gosling, but still. Judging by the reaction, there wasn't too much of a difference!
Alicia Brown showed up to take a few pictures (they're mixed in with some of my own pictures), and we'd love for you to see what we were up to this weekend!
We are never satisfied with mediocre, so we decided to make a DIY photobooth so that guests could use their own camera to take pictures while they stood in line. This was one of my favorite parts! We came up with fun sayings like "I only have 2 dollars left" and "My husband doesn't know I'm here," along with signs to go along with our celebrity guest.
My favorite? "Hey girl...you're right. Chalkboard paint would look perfect on that."
Hey girl, I'll dust while you're at Vintage Whites.
Anyway, we used brightly colored ribbon and ornaments on a PVC frame to create a super fun and festive backdrop, and scattered neon pom-poms all over a tree with big colored lights. It was SO bright and fun!!
To top it all off, we had a FABULOUS designer create that banner you see up top. Thorn + Sparrow continues to blow our minds on every project she does for us.
She hand lettered it. Yep. She's that good! My handwriting would have looked like a ransom note.
If that wasn't enough, we had the bright idea to create a "forest" of ombre trees. We spent a day watching old 70s romance movies and wrapping each branch of a tree in fabric. It was actually really fun, and if you haven't seen Somewhere in Time or The Promise, make a date with Netflix. Young Stephen Collins is worth it.
Painstakingly fun.
One of our favorite finishing touches were the wrapped chandeliers. We thrifted and painted most of them. They ran the length of our venue and looked absolutely magical.
Can you imagine about 30 of these hanging above tables at a wedding reception? I sure can.
Greeting customers was the most amazing hand lettered chalkboard by Coquille Vintage. (The other half of Junk Nation Review) The trim is made out of architectural salvage, and the concept/art is all hers. Such talent!! We were so thrilled to get this in the mail!!
Vanessa and I literally fought in the parking lot afterward about who got to keep it. We threw punches and elbows....ok not really, but it was worth a good fight ;)
Lets talk about how cute these pillows are. 100% linen, handmade...and SO gorgeous!! I'd like one in every print and color.
We also have live music at our events. Shayla is just incredible. This time they came with ugly Christmas sweaters on, and of course we fell in love a little bit more. She even dedicated my least favorite Christmas song to me, and I ended up liking it! How's that for a good musician?
Here's a song she just released...we think you should listen to it because it's pretty great.
We were also excited to sell Christmas issues of FOLK Magazine at our market...we're contributors now, and SO excited to be!! It really felt like Christmas when we opened up to our feature. Have you subscribed? It's really affordable and SO worth it. TONS of amazing stories and pictures! You can follow the link above to subscribe.
What an incredible day. We had SO much fun!! We're looking forward to bringing our awesome vibe to Salt Lake City in March, and we can't wait to show you what we have planned for that one!!
