Always A Vintage Christmas

We're linked up to this incredible link party! Make sure to go check out the other homes!

Christmas is my most FAVORITE time of year! Every year I can't wait to bring out the boxes and boxes of sparkly, glittery and shiny trinkets. This year…I had a very hard time. Just as I have had a hard time decorating our new house, I have had a hard time decking the halls with holiday cheer. Why is it so hard?

Good news is I can spend the next several years perfecting the fine art of "Christmas Decorating".

My mom and I made the wreaths for all the windows. It didn't take too long and was so much cheaper than buying 9 wreaths!

I made the pillow covers from a wool blanket that I had. I know…it's a shame to cut up a gorgeous blanket, right? But we would never use the little throw blanket and I really wanted to use it for the pillows.

We hunted for the tree on the in-laws' property. We found it right away. After my husband, the kids and I decorated the tree, my husband says, "you're style is always the same, but every year the tree is just a little different".  He's right. The tree changes slightly every year. This year I decided to only use vintage ornaments on it.

I am working on my mantel. Perhaps you'll see it before long. I haven't liked it since we put it up. So, something needs to change.

Hope this gave you a little bit of Christmas cheer!

You did a great job decorating too, love all the vintage goodness. Your sofas are so beautiful and the old windows and doors and mirrors *sigh* I'm going to follow you now with bloglovin. Sending you happy Advent wishes from Boxwood Cottage
